Todays special 5 hour edition of "Classical Discoveries" presented works by Chinese composers
as well as works by Western composers inspired by Chinese music and culture. With the exception of the
"Yellow River Concerto" and the works of Tan Dun, Chinese music is almost totally unknown. Although
the works have many western influences Chinese compositions still retain many nationalistic characteristics.
