The listeners of Classical Discoveries and the Avant-Garde Edition have always let me know how much they appreciate my radio presentations.
It is very important to me that listeners enjoy my program and are enriched by it.
Through the years I have received countless phone calls, letters, e-mails, and now through social media, Facebook comments and a slowly increasing number of Tweets.
They are all wonderful, but due to the large volume of them, it was really difficult to select which comments I should use. I have, however, compiled some complete and some excerpted comments just to give a general idea what my program represents and how listeners feel about it.

Your program is so important to the wider musical world (where else can one go to hear what is being written TODAY?), to composers-especially young composers who are in the vanguard of new and imaginative music, to all composers who are writing bold, beautiful, exciting new works, and to teachers who give their students assignments to listen to this unique program . Wonder how you get so much of energy to do such a marathon event. Very inspiring!

Hello - I heard a few amazing pieces yesterday morning around 9am. I think this was during the international Christmas music bit. First off - GREAT selections! The piece of the latvian composer was amazing and the one before that kept me in awe. But I can't remember the name of the pieces of music! HELP! And where would you recommend getting a hold of them for myself?? I hope you can help!
Subject:  This week's program
there hasn't been a Wed morning commute, since I discovered your program, that I haven't arrived at work with my day transformed by at least one selection! Really, it's just a joy to listen! (Do you know the film "Music From the Inside Out," featuring members of the Philadelphia Orchestra? There's a line in there where one of them says, "It's impossible to describe great musicianship - but you know it when you hear it!") This morning, (as every week), I thought, it's impossible to explain to someone who doesn't get it why one set of programming is an utter snooze, and another is riveting...but I'm sure glad I have a long commute on Wednesdays! Your choices-- and pacing-- are greatly appreciated!! A peaceful holiday season to you!

Dear Marvin, I was listening to Radio 3's breakfast show in the car this morning and heard that Jennifer Higdon's violin concerto was currently number 6 in the specialist classical chart. Subject: great musick!
Dear Mr. Rosen of www.classical discoveries.org - To my joy, I discovered about a month ago, that I could receive WPRB on my home radio - and car radio - here in Willow Grove, PA. First thing every morning I turn on your program. I work from home and always enjoy whatever music you present to your loyal listeners........................ Thanks always for making mornings memorable. I do not drink coffee or any caffeine so music rocks my soul! Sincerely .................R. Z.D
Subject: Today's broadcast was perfect!
I have a 1 hr 45 min commute from Vineland to East Windsor and your broadcast accompanies me throughout the drive. I've been listening for many years now and, once again, feel compelled to let you know how wonderful your show is...a true treasure of the airwaves. Thank you for making it possible. Regards..................... Mike E
Subject: Classical Discoveries!
Good Morning Marvin, I am listening, as usual................................ Once again I want to express my appreciation for how much you have broadened my classical music boundries by exposing me to lesser known artists who at times literally blow me away- I mean I stop and just listen and absorb. I certainly can’t afford to buy everything so note those that I feel I must have. I like all genres of music and have a healthy library but I’m not a “musicologist” I know what I like. In the ever evolving (not always for the better) music world/industry- listeners, artists and labels owe volunteer/community djs like you a huge debt because you stand as a picket line against the mind numbing homogenization of Clear Channel et al. ...............Walt M
Subject: Speaking of discoveries!
Dear Marvin, I stumbled on WPRB while looking for my old morning standby, WQXR, at their new location on the dial. I'd heard WPRB in the car but was happily surprised I could get it at home up here in Hunterdon County! And I discovered your program today (Wed. Oct. 14). Love it...l. Thanks again, and good luck with your program. Please put me on the email list for announcements. Best,............ FF Annandale, NJ
Subject: love your show
Dear Marvin, I love your show. The way you put things together often reveals sides to the music that I had missed before. So I am grateful indeed for that. I am particularly fond of Alan Hovhaness but I'm sure that I'll enjoy knowing of all sorts. Being several hours behind - I am lucky! Wonderful work you do. Wishing you all the best,.......................................... F P UK

Subject: Dutch choral piece this morning!
Marvin -- I was listening to WPRB on the way in to the office this morning and heard a church-like choral piece (male voices only?) by a Dutch composer -- ........ Thank you very much, and thanks also for spinning some different pieces. Makes it interesting. I'm trying to listen to your show more as a result.-- .................love the way you mix it up on the show (not the same ol' 3 Bs and an M)......... JAY
Subject: homa!
Good morning: Yesterday I heard two minutes of "homa" at 8:00AM. I would like to listen to it complete. Being an old man (71 yrs today) I do not know if is possible to hear broadcasts from previous shows. I looked on the WPRB web site and did not see if this were possible. If so, how do I do it. Otherwise, on what album is it recorded and how do I find the album. Very truly yours,................ SB

Subject: avant garde!
Marvin - I just want to express what a joy it is to listen to your programs, particularly classical discoveries goes avant garde on the van radio as I drive around the Main Line/Philadelphia delivering dry cleaning....... . I didn't realize there was that much avant garde music out there! I grew up with classical rock but got into classical & jazz partially through listening to Frank Zappa, Perry/Kingsley & The Looney Tunes (Carl Stallings). Anyway, keep up the great work!. ............- your show is great. There's nothing else like it. Sincerely,..................... Alan Werner

Dear Mr. Rosen, I was listening to your show just now, and I am very excited about the Javanshir Quliev piece!
