AMERICAN MUSIC FOR MEMORIAL DAY

Classical Discoveries will celebrate Memorial Day with a program of music by American composers.

From 5:00 to 8:30

Here is a list of some of the works which will be presented:
Concerto for bassoon and orchestra by Michael Gandolfi (1956- )
Make A Joyful Noise for tenor, mixed chorus, two trumpets, two trombones and organ by Alan Hovhaness (1911-2000)
Silent Whispers for piano and orchestra by William Thomas McKinley (1938-2015)
Ages for trombone and piano by Susan Mutter (1962- )
The Glory and the Grandeur (Percussion Concerto) by Russell Peck (1945-2009)
Symphony No. 2 by Kevin Puts (1972- )

From 8:30 until 11:00 Marvin will be joined by the noted American/Australian Composer Douglas Knehans who will be discussing a major world premiere performance of his music at Symphony Space in New York on May 25 at 8:00pm as well as his other music.
